Our School App Stay connected on the go...
Our school library is a busy, lively and well used facility, with an extensive stock of reading books, reference books, and magazines and newspapers. . The lending section has over 3,000 books available for loan and the substantial reference section includes encyclopaedias, dictionaries and almanacs.
A member of staff is on duty during opening times and a team of older pupils act as library monitors to help out.
Library lessons are part of the curriculum for pupils in Years 3 and 4, and pupils learn how the library is organised and how to use it. They also practice study and research skills and are introduced to a wide range of fiction and non-fiction books, reference books and poetry.
The older children are encouraged to use the library in spare time and it also contains soft chairs for relaxed, quiet reading.
Finally, we also have a 'listening centre' where the children can use audio books as part of their study or relaxation.
